As part of its commitment to Economic Development in the Ashfield LGA, Ashfield Council wanted to create a mechanism whereby greater interaction was fostered amongst businesses within the areas of Haberfield, Summer Hill, Ashfield and Croydon/Croydon Park. This site recognises these four districts as the Ashfield LGA’s major business precincts and will actively encourage and promote buying locally as a first choice. However, the site is designed to achieve much more than this.

Ashfield Business is first and foremost a business directory that provides a free basic business listing for every business within the Ashfield LGA. It enables businesses in neighbouring suburbs to also have a basic listing for a modest annual fee. The site invites and enables businesses to utilise the site as part of their structured advertising and marketing campaigns by providing, again for very modest annual fees, the opportunity to take larger text and display advertisements. Honouring its commitment to community Ashfield Business also provides a free premium listing for all Community Groups within the Ashfield LGA.

Banner and Keyword Advertising is also available for businesses seeking greater market penetration.

Ashfield Business will also contain Ashfield Council’s ‘prospectus’; all the information you need to make an informed decision about living, working and playing in Ashfield. Students, businesses, researchers and analysts will appreciate the wealth of up to date and expertly sourced demographic, economic and social data contained within the site and its preferred links. Recognising that the Ashfield LGA is one of the most culturally diverse locations in Australia and acknowledging that it has a place in the global community, Ashfield Business has translated its key messages initially into Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Italian, Spanish and Arabic, with further languages to be added as demanded.

And finally, Ashfield Business is the cyber office of the Ashfield Business Chamber; Ashfield’s state affiliated Chamber of Commerce.
